How to write a strong CV
- Clear and easy-to-read structure
- Highlight the most important information right away
- Length max. 1–2 pages
- Highlight relevant work experience and skills
- Use ready-made CV templates (e.g. Canva)
- Use the right language (English / Swedish depending on the job)
- Divide the text into short sections

6 things that will make your CV stand out:
Profile text
Good profile text:
Write a short introduction that tells you who you are and why you are the right person to hire.
- 3–4 sentences
- Tell us about your role and skills
- Describe your expertise and most important skills
- Highlight 1–2 concrete achievements
Try to tailor the text to match the job posting. If you have less experience, highlight your career goals and transferable skills.
Good example
1. Short and concise, with a focus on achievements
Experienced digital marketing manager with 6 years of experience in senior roles in a multinational company. I increased inbound leads by 300% and grew online sales from €300,000 per year to over €2.5 million in three years. I am looking to take the next step in my career and am therefore offering my expertise to the X marketing team.
2. Distinctive, with strong achievements
Skilled SEO copywriter with ten years of experience in retail and wholesale in three different industries. Skilled in writing content for social media and websites as well as longer texts that highlight the brand's own tone and message. I acquired 20 new customers in two years and increased my readership by 200%. Now I want to deepen my expertise as an editor and content producer in the role of marketing manager.
Poor examples
1. Doesn't attract attention, doesn't present transferable skills
I am a content producer and looking for a job as an SEO specialist. I have no experience in the field, but I am committed to my work and a quick learner. My interest in how search engines work will help me perform my duties in an excellent manner at your company.
2. Generally speaking, don't talk about achievements
I have worked for five years as a digital marketing coordinator. I demonstrated that I was a valuable and hard-working member of the team and that I could work under pressure to contribute to the company's goals. I am now looking for new challenges in digital marketing.
